Las Vegas Eldorado's American Legion baseball team has not lost to Pahrump, in the two seasons the Sun Devils and Trojans have clashed in Silver Division games.

Saturday at 5 p.m., Pahrump (15-3) and Eldorado (5-9) clash in a doubleheader, as the 2010 regular season grinds to a close.

"We have six games left ... I think we have to win them all," said Brandon Bietar, the Trojans manager. "But Eldorado has played tough against us."

Pahrump, winner in 13 of its last 14 games, has moved to within 1 1/2 games of first-place Faith Lutheran (17-2). The Crusaders have five games left, with their regular-season finale July 21 at Green Valley.

Faith, Pahrump, Liberty (9-3) and Desert Oasis (14-5) have the inside track to the Silver Division playoffs, scheduled July 27-30 at Centennial. The winner moves on to the Central States playoffs Aug. 4-8 at LeSueur, Minn.

The Trojans' final home doubleheader is Tuesday against Liberty (5 p.m.).

Roman Dovbenco, with first-game relief help from Andy Smith, and Mike Gonzalez's tough seven-inning effort in the nightcap, powered Pahrump to its sweep of Gorman (9-6) before a small home crowd at Deutch Memorial Park Tuesday.

Pahrump led 5-0 after one inning of the first game and slugged its way to a 9-1 advantage after two innings in the nightcap.

"Roman, Andy and Mike stepped up tonight...Monday (in a doubleheader sweep at Centennial), we had Sammy (Morrow) and (Aaron) Pike take charge at Centennial," said Bietar. "That's been a key for us all season ... players stepping up and doing the job."

And, Eddie Martinez has now caught every inning of every division game the Trojans have played this season.
