Gail William Cox

Gail William Cox passed away Oct. 14, 2009, following heart surgery at UCLA Hospital in Los Angeles, Calif.

He was born June, 26, 1939, in Grand Junction, Colo.

He was a lifelong resident of Nevada and had recently moved to Pahrump to be closer to his family.

Gail attended Whitney Elementary and Basic High School in Henderson. He was a certified auto mechanic who loved to work on a variety of automobiles. He enjoyed watching funny movies, listening to music, visiting with people and traveling.

His greatest joys in life were his companion dog Brandy and visiting his daughter and son-in-law, Shell Marie (Wayne) Blackard of Bonney Lake, Wash., playing with his four grandchildren, Lacey Burton, Jeston, Morgan and Ian Blackard and spending time with his fiance, Sharon Gonslaves, in Cypress, Calif.

He is survived by sisters Margie (Leroy) Tucker, Wanda (Jack) Carson and Nellie (James) Peart, all of Pahrump, Dorothy (Clayton) Klein of Portland, Ore., and Rosella (Merrill) Lundsford of Claremore, Okla.; brothers J.D. (Diane) Cox ad Don (Donna) Cox , both of Pahrump and several generations of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Gail was one of 14 children born to Rebecca Marie Lutz Cox and Palmer Wood Cox, who preceded him in death, along with four brothers and two sisters.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at New Hope Fellowship Church. (10/14/2009)
